Who we are
BlockHeat provides heat network compliance support to managing agents, freeholders and resident management companies. For anything to do with your personal information, contact us at info@blockheat.co.uk.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, job title, organisation, email address and phone number
- Information about the buildings you ask us to look at, such as addresses, heating arrangements and billing arrangements
- Details needed to register a building with Ofgem, which can include the names and contact details of the people responsible for it
The building checker on this website runs in your browser. We don't receive or store the answers you give it.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
- To carry out the work you ask us to do, including registering buildings and preparing data returns
- To keep records we need for our business and to meet legal obligations
We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries, and on performing our contract with you once you instruct us. We don't sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
- Ofgem and the Energy Ombudsman, when you instruct us to register a building or its supplier
- Service providers we use to run the business, such as our email and website hosting providers
- Anyone we're required to share it with by law
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to two years if you don't become a client. For clients, we keep records for as long as we work together and for up to six years afterwards, for legal and accounting reasons.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or ask us to delete it or stop using it. Email info@blockheat.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
